A Study Demonstrates How Precision Healthcare Can Replace The “One Size Fits All” Approach To Cancer Care

Scientists today describe, in the largest study of its type, how clinicians can better adapt their patient’s care by integrating health data with whole genome sequence (WGS) data in cancer patients. The study, which was published today in Nature Medicine, demonstrates how integrating Whole Genome Sequence data with actual clinical data can reveal alterations in cancer DNA that could be important for the treatment of a particular patient, for instance by assisting in determining the most effective course of action for their particular illness.
